Abstract: | This study examined the value of Corporate Social Responsibility to the host communities of Nigeria Breweries Ltd, Enugu. Today, Corporate Social Responsibility goes far beyond the old philanthropy of the past donating money for good course at the end of the financial year, it is now an all year round responsibility that companies accept or care for the environment around them for the interest of both the companies and communities. This work was anchored on the relation theory. The researcher used cross-sectional survey research method for the collection of quantitative data. The population of the study was 342,000 which consist of residents of Ameke-Ngwo in Udi local government area where the breweries is situated. Australian National Statistical Services (NSS) online calculator was used to draw a manageable sample size, 385 from the population. The instrument for data collection used was questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage while chi-square formula was used to test the hypotheses Pearson's correlation coefficient statistical formula was used to test hypotheses one, two and three using primary data from respondents. The result of the findings shows that the host community has positive perception about NBL CRS projects/empowerment, a larger percentage of the respondent are in agreement with positive effect of NBL CSR project in the life of youth, women and in development of the host community, except on road rehabilitation with low attention. |
