Abstract: The study investigated personality trait, parenting style, peer influence on gambling behaviour among undergraduates of Ebonyi State University,Abakaliki South Eastern Nigeria. A total of 391 participants comprising 285 males and 106 female undergraduates were selected through random sampling techniques. Four instruments were used for data collection: Big five personality Inventory, Parenting Care Scale, Peer Influence and Gambling Behaviour Scale. Multi-Heretical Regression and Step wise regression analysis were used to test the stated hypotheses. The results step wise regression coefficient indicated that only extraversion (β = .17 p< .01), agreeableness (β = .16, p< .01), conscientiousness (β = .04, p< .01), and openness (β = .18, p< .01) were significant predictors of gambling behaviour of undergraduates. Also the dimensions of parenting styles (permissive, neglecting /rejecting, and authoritarian) are statistically and significantly prediction on gambling behaviour among undergraduates except authoritative parenting styles. The result also revealed that peer influence significantly and positive predict gambling behaviour. Also, in multiple regression models, personality, parenting style and peer influence independently and jointly predict gambling behavior. The study therefore concludes that extraversion ,conscientiousness, openness to experience and agreeableness, permissiveness, neglecting /rejecting, and authoritarian parenting style and peer influence play crucial role in the prediction of gambling behaviour among undergraduates. The research findings indicate interventions aimed to improve reduce undergraduates gambling behaviour, the management's involvement in creating awareness campaign on problem of gambling behaviour ,social network and assessment of their personality traits, and equally reveals that parenting styles may have positive impact in combating gambling behaviour among undergraduates.
